THE SPECTRES I [Who Have Nothing] (Monster Rare 1967 Japanese wide centred 7" vinyl single, featuring a pre-Status Quo, Francis Rossi (guitar, vocals), Alan Lancaster (bass, vocals), Roy Lynes (keyboards, vocals) & John Coghlan (drums). The Spectres signed a five-year deal with Piccadilly Records in the summer of '66 & this was their debut single, produced by John Schroeder, it hit the British record shops in September & then worldwide in Japan in January the following year. It remains one of the most elusive records relating to the mighty Quo! Our Japanese buyer had to stray further afield in order to find this copy. Featuring 'Neighbour, Neighbour' on the b-side & complete with the original die-cut company sleeve & unique wraparound lyric picture sleeve, see 'more info' for condition details... LL-1002-Y)
TRACKLISTING AND EXTRA INFORMATION
I (Who Have Nothing)
Neighbour, Neighbour
Condition :-
Only the Netherlands & Japan had a picture sleeve to go with this single. Here is the unique Japanese-only artwork, a curious design in full colour, the sleeve is a wraparound insert with a '67.1' release date printed on the back, manufactured from thin paper stock. There are a few light crease marks from handling but no tears, foxing or writing. The lyrics to both songs are printed inside in English. Very few of these ever appear to hit the online market.
The labels are unscathed & near mint. The vinyl grades Excellennt with just the lightest few paper scuffs to identify play & little if any other cosmetic blemishes of note & performance is far higher than this initial visual grading. A remarkable find & ideal for the serious Quo collector.
